MEDICAL MASKS NEEDED

Help Protect our Healthcare Workers!

Can you sew?  You can save lives!
Learn how to use your skills to provide protection for our healthcare workers!

One of the growing needs in our community is the need for masks for our nurses and healthcare workers.  Many healthcare facilities do not have enough personal protective equipment for one shift, let alone a COVID-19 outbreak.  Masks, goggles, gloves, and gowns are all in dire need as entire ICU units have been converted into COVID-19 specific floors.

One way that you can help serve our local doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals is by using your sewing abilities to cut and sew masks for people in our hospitals.  All of the details of how these masks are made are shown in the link above.

The masks will be used for primary care workers in the hospital who are not engaged with patients so that surgical and N95 masks and respirators can be given to the areas with the greatest needs.

Oak Pointe is committed to assisting with this need and have donated unused T-shirts from our different ministries to be used as material for the cause.  If you can sew and would be able to assist with this need, Cotton T-shirts can be picked up from the Oak Pointe Novi office during normal business hours.  Use these T-shirts as free material to sew up masks.

Once the masks are completed, they will need to be washed and then placed in ziplock bags.

Drop off can be done Tuesday or Thursday from 9-11am in the trailer in front of Oak Pointe Church Novi or Milford.
