We are anticipating an incredible OPC Milford’s Men’s Retreat this year. If you’ve “retreated” with us in years past, you know what I mean. But If this will be your first time, simply be prepared to be refreshed, encouraged, and enlightened by all the things God has specifically for you. It’s coming soon – May 15-17 on the shores of Lake Michigan at Camp Geneva where we will get together, have community, eat great food prepared by Camp Geneva’s culinary team, play a variety of sports and activities, and spend time in the Bible.
We currently live in a time of mixed messages, conflicting perspectives, and anxiety-producing circumstances. How do we navigate through all this? From where (or from Whom) do we receive the real truth? How do we develop wisdom?
Look what happened to a bunch of men after Jesus spoke to them in Mark 13:54:“… they were astonished and said, ‘Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?’” For these guys, Jesus’ wisdom was so great they couldn’t believe it. But for those who DID believe In Him, they found a quality of wisdom that was very much different from the world’s – the type that produces peace, purity, gentleness and mercy (James 3:17) and a confident life worth living (James 1:25; Matthew 7:24-29).
I believe God is leading each one of us to Him this Spring to understand on an even deeper level this wisdom – and the great works it produces. Our speaker this year is Pastor Paul Jenkinson who has a pertinent message of what it means to be a wise man of God, how we get there, and that draw us closer to Jesus and each other. God can use our lives to do things beyond our wildest imaginations.
Join us as we also play sports, quiet time, enjoy the camp fire pits on the 1,200 feet of Lake Michigan beachfront, and take walks along the nearby walking paths.
