What to bring

  • Bible, Notebook, Pen/Pencil (printed notes are available) 
  • -OR- Preloaded Bulletin on your phone (opcmilford.org/bulletin)
  • Beverage (coffee, tea, water) 
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Mask

When You Arrive

To ensure proper sanitation, doors will open 15 minutes prior to each service.  You’ll be greeted by someone to answer your questions & direct you either to the Auditorium or to our check in station for kids.

Hugs & Handshakes? 

We know that it will be exciting to see one another, and the tendency is to hug or give a handshake. We will avoid all physical contact a while. We are going to smile and wave a lot. 

Seating 

When you choose your seating please feel free to sit with your family in a group.  Please leave 2-3 chairs between each party. We have already spread out the rows giving 6’ between them to help maintain social distancing as well.  

Giving 

We will not be passing the offering bags during our service. We ask that you continue to give online or drop your offering in the white boxes as you exit the auditorium after the service. Thank you for your faithful giving. 

Dismissal 

At the end of the services, we will take just a few extra minutes to dismiss by section. In order to complete sanitation between services, we ask that you promptly pick up your children & make your way outside of our building as quickly as possible when dismissed. Please utilize outdoors spaces for visiting so that everyone can exit the building.

Regarding Masks 

For All Services:

Masks are required while in common areas.

8:30a:

Masks are required to be kept on for the duration of the service.

10:00a & 11:30a:

Masks are optional/recommended to be kept on once seated in the auditorium.

Regarding Health 

When you come to church, please be aware of the health of your family members and yourself. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and watch online. Feel free to ask for prayer and we will have the prayer team pray for you by name. You know your health best, so please only bring your healthiest you to services.

Restrooms 

The restrooms in the lobby will be available, however, please try to utilize your facilities at home prior to coming to church.

Regarding Sanitization

All hard surface touch points will be disinfected between services. Hand sanitizing stations can be found throughout the lobby & building. Don’t be afraid to use them. 

Communion

On the occasion that we take communion, it will be served in individual, pre-packaged servings.

Singing

We will have worship by singing.

Capacity

The auditorium will operate at 50% capacity.  Overflow rooms are available to view the live stream in the student center and on the outdoor covered patio.

What happens if someone tests positive for COVID-19 who attended a worship service? 

It will be requested of any member/attendee who tests positive for COVID-19 and has attended a worship service of Oak Pointe Church Milford to notify the church office immediately by way of info@opcmilford.org or phoning 248-685-3560.  The highest levels of privacy will be maintained; no individual names of any who disclose to the church office a positive COVID-19 test result will be publicized or made known in the church-wide communication.

Going Forward 

Be encouraged, this is a fluid situation and we will lift the precautionary measures as our state/local authorities recommend.

Indoor Adult Groups

When You Arrive
Head to the area where your group is meeting. There will be signage to direct you.

Hugs & Handshakes? 
We know that it will be exciting to see one another, and the tendency is to hug or give a handshake. We will avoid all physical contact a while. We are going to smile and wave a lot.

Seating 
Chairs for the formal gathering time will be spaced apart appropriately. Please try to maintain a reasonable social distance as you meet.  Chairs will be sanitized between meetings.

Regarding Masks 

In Common Areas:

Masks are required in all common areas while inside the building.

When Seated – During Program or Group:

Masks are optional/recommended while seated in distanced chairs, or outside.

Regarding Health 
When you come to your group, please be aware of the health of your family members and yourself. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and request to attend via Zoom. Feel free to ask for prayer and we will have the volunteer staff team pray for you by name. You know your health best.

KIDS MINISTRY 

Practices & Procedures

When You Arrive – Check In

Families can check-in at the kiosk the church lobby and will receive necessary tags to enter Oak Pointe Kids spaces. Because this is a high point of contact area, “6ft apart” signs will be posted on the floor to encourage social distancing.  To keep the lobby and stairwells less congested, it is recommended one parent drop off and pick up their child in their designated space.  All “FREE TO GO” passes are suspended until further notice.  Any Child entering into Oak Pointe Kid spaces must have an adult dropping off and picking up.  Children must remain with their parents at all time while in common spaces (lobby, hallways & restrooms).

Regarding Masks 

Ark Park (Birth-Preschool):

Mask Required for all volunteers

Mask Optional/Recommended for kids (this is an acknowledgment of the difficulty of keeping masks on small kids, as well as the safety of workers attempting to put masks back on kids)

K3Cove and Club45 (K-5th Grade):

Mask Required for all volunteers

Mask Required for kids in large group

Mask Optional/Recommended for kids while in small group and seated in their socially distanced stools (this is a corollary to “mask breaks” that will happen in local schools)

Temperature Checks:

For all kidsparents/guardians, and workers/staff who plan to come into any OPC|M Kids spaces, we ask that you take your temperature at home before you come to church.  If your temperature is above 100.4 please do not come physically to church that day.  If you do not have a thermometer at home, or if you forget to take your temperature before arriving at church, we will have a sanitized, self-serve temperature-check station available for use in the lobby.

Sanitization:

Kid areas will be sanitized after each service. Only toys that can be properly sanitized will be available for play.
Other toys that cannot be sanitized will be packed and stored for another time. Each child will have his/her own designated supply box. Hand sanitizer will be available in each room, bathroom & common areas.

Social Distancing:

Although social distancing amongst children is extremely difficult, it will be encouraged in both large and small group settings. Chairs/stools have been purchased for our Preschool thru 5th grade areas and will be spaced out to encourage social distancing.

Capacity:

Kid areas will operate at a 50 percent capacity. If capacity is reached, you’ll be prompted at check in that your room is full. Kid Packs are available in the lobby if you choose to bring your child into service, or our family-friendly overflow spaces (student center & patio).

Game Galaxy will not meet at this time.

INDOOR YOUTH GROUP

Practices & Procedures

Beginning September 16 & 17
Wednesdays (High School) • 7:00-9:00p
Thursdays (Middle School) • 6:30-8:30p
No Rock on Sunday


What to bring

  • Bible, Notebook, Pen/Pencil
  • Water Bottle
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Mask

When You Arrive

You’ll be greeted by volunteer staff to direct students to our check in station. A volunteer will ask your name for a touch free check in. Hand sanitizer will be provided at check in and we ask all students to sanitize their hands before entering.

Parking

For vehicles that will stay during group, please park in the upper lot by the main church doors and proceed to the student center.  For students being dropped off, use the lower student center entrance.

Chairs for the formal gathering time of youth group will be spaced apart appropriately. We ask students to not move their chairs to ensure proper social distancing.  Chairs will be sanitized between youth group meetings.

When Seated – During Program or Life Group:

Masks are optional/recommended while seated in distanced chairs for the program, life group time, or outside.

The downstairs restrooms in the church will be available, however, please try to utilize your facilities at home prior to coming to coming to youth group. Please note that the bathrooms will not be available for congregating. Bathrooms will be sanitized prior to each youth group.

Cafe 

The cafe will be open for sale. Two volunteers will serve students with masks and gloves.

Regarding Sanitization

All touch points will be disinfected between youth group. If you want to join the team who does this, please let us know.

Hand sanitizing stations can be found throughout the building. Don’t be afraid to use them.

Capacity

The Student Center will operate at 50% capacity.  If capacity cannot be maintained, a move to a larger room in the building will be considered.

Singing

We will have worship by singing.
