Sometimes the challenges of life can feel relentless; there is a lot in the schedule, lots of details to cover, lots of surprises to manage. This can put a pressure on us that feels relentless. Where we are going in God’s Word this Fall is a place that will help us feel something else that is relentless, but in a good way – a way that brings life, security, peace, and purpose.
In the Book of Jonah, we will feel how the relentless grace of God keeps coming after us, for our good! We’ll feel this because Jonah is much more than a story about a whale. It’s a story about a man who runs from God only to find God running after him; it’s a story about a people of God who reject God but experience Him rescuing them; it’s a story about a global superpower that is totally ignorant about God but realizes God is initiating with them. The Book of Jonah is about the God of relentless grace who never stops coming after us for our good and His glory.
