Kids Ministry

Connecting Kids to Christ

We tap into the way kids are naturally wired by engaging them with awesome music, fun games, and age appropriate Bible teaching.  We help them discover who God is, how he sees them, and how much he loves them.  We explore how we are an active part of a life long adventure with Jesus.  We empower kids to trust God, experience him in their daily lives, and share him with others.

Here’s what happens…

SAFE & FUN

Fun and engaging to kids on every level with exciting activities, trained volunteers and check in/out procedures.

BIBLE TEACHING

Experience the truth of God’s Word, prayer and worship in dynamic, relevant and engaging ways.

SMALL GROUPS

Encouraging spiritual growth through relationships, activities and discussion.

Waiting to be picked by a team in grade school is agonizing. If you’re some of the last people chosen by a team, it means while everyone else is cheering, “Go team!” you’re probably thinking something like, “They don’t want me, and I don’t want to be here.”

The truth is, we don’t all have the skills to hit home runs or run really fast. And that’s okay. What’s not okay is being unwanted. Thankfully, for all of us, Jesus wants everyone on His team! Jesus wants everyone everywhere to follow Him and be His friend forever. No matter what we can or can’t do, what we have done, what we look like, or where we live, Jesus is alive and He wants to be our friend…forever! And that kind of Good News makes us all want to say, “GO TEAM!”

Memory Verse: “I have called you friends.” John 15:15 | NIV

Key Question: Who wants to be your forever friend?

Bottom Line: Jesus wants to be my forever friend.

GOD VIEW: THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PEACE AND GOD’S CHARACTER, AS SHOWN THROUGH GOD’S BIG STORY

Throughout Scripture, we can see how peace is something near to God’s heart. Even though people chose to break their relationship with God, God made a way to fix that relationship through Jesus. And because we reflect God’s image, making peace with others should be a priority for us as well. That’s why we’re taking the first three weeks of March to highlight some passages and stories about peace to help kids understand more about how they can be peacemakers in their world.

Memory Verse: “If possible, live in peace with everyone. Do that as much as you can.” Romans 12:18 | NIRV

Peace: Proving you care more about each other than winning an argument.

Access

We want to make everyone feel welcome as they come through our doors – including children and adults with differing abilities, and their families and caregivers.   Access is the way we at Oak Pointe Milford talk about providing accessibility support and services to individuals with disabilities, special needs, conditions, and those needing various accommodations in our church community.
